Watch Katy Perry & Miranda Kerr’s unusual bond as they bond across motherhood and Orlando Bloom

While some ex-wives and significant others now disagree, Katy Perry and Miranda Kerr agree on many points, including Orlando Bloom’s “Adonis” fitness level, the importance of a health-conscious lifestyle, and the joys of motherhood. Both women, of course, have children with bloom. Perry and the actor welcomed daughter Daisy Dove eight months ago, while Kerr and Bloom, who were married from 2010 to 2013, have a 10-year-old son, Flynn, together.

Although the two mothers chatted on Kerr’s Instagram Live Tuesday night to celebrate the launch of their new Kora Organics Turmeric Glow Moisturizer (which Perry is a fan and great supporter of), the convo inevitably turned to motherhood. Perry told Kerr she was glad she hadn’t “pushed” her career and “disregarded” her desire to be a mother.

“It’s amazing to have this opportunity to be a business woman, but at 34 when I said ‘OK, I’m ready’ I am so glad I made the conscious decision to actually try this” said Perry her celebrity co-parent Kerr, who also has two toddlers with husband Evan Spiegel.

While loving and cherishing her music career, she has come to realize as a mother that parenting is really “the best job” and “the most fulfilling”.

“There was no feeling like the feeling when I had my daughter,” Perry told Kerr. “It was like all the love I’ve ever looked for. It was like bam. “

The joy Perry takes in being the mother of Daisy is so much greater than the admiration she gets from millions of fans, she explained.

“Your art is validated by the outside world and that fluctuates. Sometimes you’re loved and sometimes people say, ‘No, I don’t like that, go ahead,’ said Perry, explaining that Daisy is so different. “Your children’s love is constant and unconditional and not based on what you have, what you don’t have, what career … It definitely got me fed up with knowing that there is this unwavering, unconditional love.”

Perry also expressed that Kerr gives her the best health tips that often come through son Flynn. The singer noted that when the 10-year-old comes to see her and Bloom, he always brings a great “skincare or food knowledge” that he has learned from his mother.

In an inspirational moment of the mixed family, Perry thanked Miranda for being the health guru of her life and said, “In our modern family, she is probably the most health conscious of all. Though Orlando folks [both] I obviously really love this. “
