“Trips Ahoy:” Orlando man blasted with THC edibles, MPs say

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. – An Orlando man with multiple pending arrest warrants was blown up with THC food from Trips Ahoy, according to Martin County MPs.

The Martin County Sheriff’s office reported the arrest of Manuel Mustelier, 33, online on Tuesday.

According to the Post, MPs tried to overtake Mustelier, but the man got out of his car and ran into a nearby pond. MPs said he jumped into the pond and swam to the other side, but was handcuffed by a MP who was waiting at the bench.

Investigators said they searched Muselier’s car and found LSD and several packages of THC-laced foods. Many of the items looked like regular snacks – Cheetos, Doritos, and Ruffle chips – but some also had names like “Trips Ahoy” and “Cannaburst”. All packaging contained THC, the psychoactive chemical found in marijuana.

According to the sheriff’s office, Mustelier has been wanted on several Orange County arrest warrants for attempted kidnapping, strangling the battery, entering a construction site and resisting the arrest.

He is now also charged with drug possession and obstruction of justice without violence.

“He took the #WrongExit and earned a ‘trip ahoy’ to Martin County Jail,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook.

Mustelier is kept unbound.
