ORLANDO, Florida. – Some people had the opportunity to test the Portillo Orlando location before its official opening in June.
For example, a theme park blogger passing by Mikey Theme Park said in a video posted on Saturday, May 29th, that Portillo’s has been “gently open” for several days – meaning it is not officially open, but People are served food served from their menu.
Mikey Theme Park walks through the restaurant, showing off the tables and the kitchen before diving into an Italian beef steak sandwich and french fries.

This blogger isn’t the only person who’s tried Portillo’s in the past week. Several others have posted on Twitter about the food at the Chicago chain’s newest location.
Portillo’s will officially open its Orlando location on June 15 at 10:30 am following a ribbon cutting ceremony at The Village on O-Town West on 7715 Palm Parkway. The new location is said to be 7,800 square feet with double passageways and two large covered outdoor terraces. The interior is designed in the style of a diner, with an ode to rock ‘n roll with a ceiling installation with an electric guitar.
The chain is known for signature products like Chicago-style hot dogs, famous Italian beef sandwiches, grilled burgers, and Portillo’s famous chocolate cake.

“We are very excited to expand our presence in Florida and to be part of such an iconic community,” said Michael Osanloo, CEO of Portillo, previously. “This new restaurant will allow us to showcase long-time fans and first-time diners in the Orlando Portillo’s area and serve the many tourists in one of the country’s most popular tourist destinations.”
This will be Portillo’s third location in Florida and the 64th location in the country. The other two Sunshine State locations are in Tampa and Brandon.
