The IAAPA Expo in Orlando will return in November
ORLANDO, Florida – IAAPA Expo, the world’s largest attraction fair, will return to Orlando this November, the IAAPA announced on Monday.
What you need to know
- The annual IAAPA Expo will return in November
- The conference held in Orlando was canceled last year due to the pandemic
- The event will take place in person at the Orange County Convention Center
The conference will take place November 15-18 at the Orange County Convention Center.
“This year was different from any other. Members reached out to us to help advance the industry so that guests around the world can safely return to the fun we are known for, ”said Hal McEvoy, President and CEO of IAAPA, in a statement. “The best way to do this is to bring the industry together for our global exhibitions.”
The in-person conference, which typically attracts tens of thousands of industry participants, was canceled last year in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In his place, the IAAPA hosted a virtual conference with panels and presentations accessible online. The cancellation of the event was a severe economic blow to the convention center.
More than 75 training courses are planned for the Orlando event. There will also be exclusive networking events and a fundraiser for Give Kids The World Village.
The IAAPA said it will ensure that proper security measures are in place for the event. Currently, health and safety guidelines include mandatory masks for those ages 2 and up, non-contact hand sanitizing stations over the facilities and physical removal protocols such as floor markings and physical barriers.
At the IAAPA Expo, theme park providers and companies can showcase the latest rides, foods, and technology. In the past, major theme park operators like Disney and SeaWorld made big announcements about upcoming attractions during the conference.
The conference is not open to the public.
