Orlando VA employees will be distributing the Moderna double-dose vaccine and the Janssen single-dose vaccine (Johnson & Johnson) in the clinic.

Distribution of the Janssen vaccine resumed on April 23 at the recommendation of the Centers for Disease Control and the Food and Drug Administration after a temporary pause to conduct a thorough safety clearance.

Both agencies made statements regarding continued use of the vaccine, noting that the available data show that the benefits of the Janssen vaccine outweigh the known and potential risks in people aged 18 and over.

Individuals receiving the Moderna vaccine will have their second dosing appointment at the Palm Bay, VA outpatient clinic or the Viera, VA Clinic.
