The Illinois-based chain has postponed the opening of its Orlando restaurant for the second time.
The Palm Parkway restaurant in the Village of the O-Town West Complex near Disney World was due to open to the public on March 23. However, there is still some work to be done before the restaurant can welcome its first diners.
“We won’t be opening on March 23rd and we’re not ready to announce a new opening date yet,” a spokesman said in a statement to Spectrum News. “As the first building to open a brand new development, there are a few more items on our to-do list before we welcome everyone to our lovely restaurant.”
The 7,800 square meter restaurant has a double thoroughfare and two large covered outdoor terraces as well as classic rock’n’roll decor inside.
“Hang on, Orlando … our Italian beef sandwiches, Chicago-style hot dogs and chocolate cake shakes are almost ready for you,” the statement said.
Portillo’s has two other locations in Florida – one in Tampa and one in Brandon.
