PHOTO REPORT: Universal Orlando Resort 6/5/21 (Fully Vaccinated Team Members Working Maskless Outdoors, Retro Paint Splatter Shirt, Jurassic Park Loungefly, And More)
Welcome to a lovely Saturday morning here at the Universal Orlando Resort. We arrived bright and early to find very small crowds and the smiling faces of the team members.
Yesterday it was confirmed that fully vaccinated team members will be able to work outdoors maskless from today.
As we walked through the park, we noticed that many team members were still wearing face covers when working outdoors.
Fans of retro merchandise from Universal Studios are in luck. This black shirt has the retro logo and is covered with neon paint splatters on both the front and the back. If you look closely you will find that they all have their own unique color pattern. The shirt is priced at $ 28 and is available in multiple stores, including the Universal Legacy Store and the Universal Studios Store.
The rush wasn’t bad for a Saturday morning and many of the attractions had short waiting times. .
Restaurants in the parks have now removed the partitions between the tables. Hopefully we will see more capacity in the restaurants in the summer.
At Islands of Adventure we made our way to the VelociCoaster. The attraction lasted 55 minutes and got busier as the morning wore on. Umbrellas have been added to the extended queue to provide some shade for guests waiting in line.
Jurassic Outfitters has a lot of new merchandise available, but our favorite is this Loungefly backpack and wallet. You can find more new merchandise in our post here.
A new specialty drink has been added to the Watering Hole menu. The Watering Hole is one of our favorite spots at Universal Orlando so we’ll be back soon to try the Fossilizer.
The renovation work at Toon Lagoon is progressing rapidly. The areas with water features are being repaired and look really good so far.
We have a feeling that Storm Force Accelatron may be reopening for the summer soon. The warning signs at the entrance were removed after the attraction closed last year but are now back. That looks like a good sign.
That’s all for that visit to the Universal Orlando Resort. Thank you for visiting the parks with us today and stay tuned to Universal Parks News Today for more updates!
