PHOTO REPORT: Universal Orlando Resort 5/5/21 (New Tribute Store Frame Appears, Food Festival Booths Building, Jurassic World Merchandise, and More)
Welcome to a busy, exciting day here at the Universal Orlando Resort. There is a lot going on in the parks. So let’s look at what’s new today.
Jurassic World VelociCoaster still has a passholder preview, so Jurassic Park is very busy. It will be interesting to see how crowded it will be when the ride officially opens on June 10th.
It’s sunny and hot today, which is perfect weather for a water fight at Camp Jurassic. The play area recently reopened in Jurassic Park and we love wandering the area and having some fun.
It’s also a great place to relax and see the VelociCoaster.
Over at the VelociCoaster gift shop at the Jurassic Park Discovery Center, the bird of prey’s toes are looking good. They had some white paint on them when the figure was first installed, but they look rap grand now.
The metal barricades surrounding the Jurassic Park vehicle and T-Rex were replaced with a rope barrier. It looks a lot nicer now.
There are lots of new merchandise from Jurassic Park and Jurassic World including this new face mask. You can find more new goods in our post here.
There are barricades leading to Dudley Do-Right’s Rip Saw Falls where some pavement repairs are being made.
Next we made our way to Universal Studios Florida and found lots of interesting new preps in the park. A new tribute store is coming soon and the frame has been placed at the entrance. We can hardly wait.
We stopped at Florean Fortescue’s for a salted caramel blonde and strawberry peanut butter ice cream. It’s a very hot day so it started to melt quickly.
We heard some activity behind the curtains of the old Barney Shop and now there are some planters in the area.
This orange cream mud was very refreshing after a long hot day in the park. You can find this at the food stand across from The Tonight Shop.
It looks like we’re having a new summer food festival and preparations are underway in the park. A new food counter and tables can be found in the old smoking section across from Mel’s Drive-In.
Two food trucks are now in the park in the San Francisco area and look like they’re almost ready for use.
Almost all of the Mardi Gras tents and stands have been dismantled, but this one still remains in the back of the park.
The U Design kiosks have added new pet magnets that can be customized. Unfortunately there was only “Cat Dad” and no “Cat Mom” so we hope they will add that option soon.
Thank you for joining us in the parks today. We’ll be back soon, so stay tuned to Universal Parks News Today for more updates!
