PHOTO REPORT: Universal Orlando Resort 4/8/21 (mysterious structure in Jurassic Park, “Shrek” characters in Mardi Gras costumes, lunch at Cafe 4, crowds and more)
Welcome to another busy day here at the Universal Orlando Resort! It’s hot, sunny, and crowded so let’s go right now and see what happens today.
We started our day at Islands of Adventure first and made our way through the crowd to head towards Jurassic Park.
Not much new happens on the Jurassic World VelociCoaster website, but we spotted a random water bottle in the Raptor paddock. Let’s hope someone just left this behind and wasn’t eaten by a bird of prey.
Speaking of raptors, Raptor Encounter has been very popular lately. We always love to see Blue and the baby raptors Sierra and Tango when we get the chance.
The painting around the Jurassic Park Discovery Center continues with fresher colors on the sign above the entrance. This looks even better than the shiny bronze colors we saw on our last visit.
Behind the building walls next to Thunder Falls Terrace, a mysterious structure takes shape. We’ll keep an eye on this area to see any other noticeable changes.
The queues for restaurants and food trucks in the park are long. When we didn’t see the queue for Cafe 4, we decided to take the opportunity to grab a slice of vegetarian pizza and relax in the air conditioning.
The “If I Ran the Zoo” playground in Seuss Landing continues to paint, although it is still closed.
Next we made our way to Universal Studios Florida and met up with Shrek, Princess Fiona and Donkey in their Mardi Gras outfits. You look great. Can we all take a moment to appreciate Shrek’s onion carnival pearl necklace?
The fountain before old A Day in the Park with Barney Theater is filled with water again, but it’s just not the same without it.
It’s a hot day and some guests enjoy lunch in shady spots in the parks while others choose to soak up some rays of sunshine while lying on the grass.
The lines for food are almost inferior to the lines for attractions. This is our cue to get out of here.
Thank you for joining us in the parks today. We’ll be back soon and hopefully the crowd won’t be that bad when Spring Break comes to an end! Follow Universal Parks News Today for the latest updates!
