PHOTO REPORT: Universal Orlando Resort 4/23/21 (Retro Merchandise, 2021 Grad Bash Freestyle Cups, Updated VelociCoaster Sign, And More)
Welcome to another great day at the Universal Orlando Resort! We started our day at Islands of Adventure first to see what’s new.
The Universal Studios retro windbreaker is finally back in stock. This item is very popular with guests and has been sold out for some time. If you’ve been waiting for a replenishment, now is the time to go to Universal. They are available in multiple locations including the Legacy Store in CityWalk, the Universal Studios Store, and the Islands of Adventure Trading Company.
A new piece of retro goods has also arrived. A blue and black racerback tank top is available now for $ 30. Universal Studios Florida retro logo really pops against the light blue color.
The Jurassic Park sign on the arch looks bright and refreshed. This whole part of the park has received a lot of attention lately and looks great.
Sections of the Raptor paddock have been closed to the film crew’s facility. We have seen a lot of Jurassic World VelociCoaster filming with drivers lately.
The VelociCoaster warning sign is visible near the entrance to the attraction. Looks like a long list of warnings!
We found that the damaged sign at the exit of the Truffula trees has been repaired.
The Coca-Cola Freestyle machines advertise Sprite Ginger, which sounds very interesting.
The VelociCoaster logo has been updated to “Open June 10” instead of “Summer 2021”. We can’t wait to go during the annual pass holder’s preview next week.
The park was full, but Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure used a standby queue instead of Virtual Line and only had to wait 60 minutes. Yes, we said “just”.
Next we made our way to Universal Studios Florida.
Oddly enough, there was no queue for Mel’s drive-in, so we stopped by and spotted the Freestyle Cups of the 2021 “Grad Bash” class.
We’ve seen technicians working around the slide in Fievels Playland lately and today the rafts showed up. We expect this area to open again soon!
Twisted Taters with Andouille Sausage and Queso have become one of our favorite Carnival dishes, and we are going to miss them. Check out our full review of this dish and other dishes at the New Orleans booth!
It’s been a long, busy day here in the parks so we’ll get out of here. Thank you for joining us at Universal Orlando Resort and follow Universal Parks News Today for more updates!
