PHOTO REPORT: Universal Orlando Resort 4/12/21 (New Face Masks from Hello Kitty and Betty Boop, Spring Break Crowds, Thai Summer Rolls at the Confisco Grille and more)
The sun is shining and the spring break crowds are back! It’s another busy day here at the Universal Orlando Resort. Yesterday the parks were dead due to the weather, but today it went on as usual! Let’s see what happens in the parks today.
Three new face masks with Betty Boop and Hello Kitty have arrived around the resort. The original Hello Kitty face mask has been retired so it’s nice to see two new styles arrive. Take a closer look at these new masks here.
Islands of Adventure felt full today, but the parks weren’t busy. We did our best to get through Hogsmeade.
The crowd was so much worse than yesterday, but we’re trying to prepare for what this part of the park will look like on June 10th.
The path in Jurassic Park that leads to the bypass bridge and entrance to the Jurassic World VelociCoaster is now closed. There are planters and scrims closer to the smoking area and through the planters we could see a crew working on the sidewalk.
This is how dinosaurs eat you. In Jurassic Park, you don’t just jump with ropes!
When you adopt a plush raptor make sure you get the raptor goodies too.
This could be a sign that it’s time to leave Jurassic Park!
Suddenly we wish it would storm again.
Olive Oyl and Betty Boop welcomed the guests to the Toon Lagoon.
A 75-minute wait for Popeye and Bluto’s bilge-rat barges might be worth it on a hot day. At least you know you’re getting drenched!
The waiting times in the park weren’t too terrible considering how busy it was. The amazing adventures of Spider-Man were just 35 minutes of waiting when we passed by.
This is the same face we made when we arrived at the park today and saw the crowd.
The area around the Discovery Center near the VelociCoaster entrance is cleared and almost ready for guests!
We stopped at Navigator’s Club for a quick lunch. It’s a great place to relax while watching the VelociCoaster tests.
Thai summer rolls have recently been added to the menu so we decided to try them out.
This is a nice change from your typical theme park meal. This dish contains mint, bibb salad, julienne carrots, avocado, cucumber, radish and cellophane noodles. It is served with a delicious peanut sauce and hoisin sauce.
There’s just as much going on at Universal Studios Florida today.
It’s a hot day and a lot of people just hang out in the shade.
At the end of the slide we spotted a technician who worked in the Fieval play area. Could this be a sign that this area will be reopening soon?
There’s an event going on in the park tonight, so the park gets busier as the day progresses.
This avocado plush is a Springfield prize on one of the skill games. We want it!
Diagon Alley is busy tonight. There are long lines for Butterbeer and an 85 minute wait for Harry Potter and the Gringotts escape.
Thank you for joining us at Universal Orlando Resort today. It’s been a long day so we’re getting out of here. Don’t forget to follow Universal Parks News Today for the latest updates.
