PHOTO REPORT: Universal Orlando Resort 3/30/21 (Elevated Parking Fees, Parking Distance, Walls Removed in New Universal Studios Store, Paintings in Jurassic Park, and More)
Greetings from another busy day at the Universal Orlando Resort. The parks were full yesterday so we arrived light and early this morning to get over the rush.
On the way to the parking garage, we noticed that the prime parking prices had risen over the weekend. We included Prime Parking on our annual pass and there is no way we would recommend it to anyone for $ 50. We have taken some long walks from Jaws in the past and cannot imagine paying extra for this “privilege”, to be completely honest.
As we made our way through CityWalk, we were excited to see that the building walls around the new Universal Studios store had been removed! Last night we saw the signs light up and today we took a closer look at the exterior details. It can’t be long before we shop in the store.
Our first stop of the day was the Universal Islands of Adventure – and Hogsmeade is crowded as always. It couldn’t be long before all three parks reached capacity for the day.
We’ve spent a lot of time in Jurassic Park lately, but we love it.
The Jurassic Park Discovery Center continues to be canceled. These fossil walls are so alive now. Universal has spared no expense when it comes to freshening up this area of the park before the VelociCoaster opens!
An additional sticker saying “Locker Pay Station” has been added to the large VelociCoaster lockers.
We wonder how many people on this series think they are waiting for the amazing adventures of Spider-Man and not for Aunt Anne’s pretzels.
We decided to go through CityWalk to get to Universal Studios Florida to see what the crowd looked like. There was a steady influx of guests making their way to both parks, so it was no surprise they reached their capacities before noon.
Make sure to pack your patience if you don’t have an express passport. The queues for the sights can get very long on busy days!
Lines for food are almost as crazy as the lines for the rides. Fortunately, we know where to eat quickly.
The Monsters Cafe is only open on busy days so it doesn’t seem to have the same amount as some other restaurants. We went right in and ordered a BBQ Jackfruit Sandwich. The Monsters Cafe served a limited menu and packed the food in take-out boxes for diners to either dine in the restaurant or take it out. The sandwich was served with a side of crispy fries. While we miss the mac n cheese, these products were excellent replacements to help curb our hunger pangs.
Get a Duff cooler for $ 10 at the Kwik-E-Mart with a $ 25 qualifying purchase.
Always very popular, SpongeBob, Patrick and Squidward look amazing in their Mardi Gras outfits.
Grab a vegan brownie skull for the trip home. This treat is one of our favorite Mardi Gras offerings this year.
Thank you for joining us at the Universal Orlando Resort today. It was a busy day but we’re glad we got to enjoy the parks on such a beautiful day. We’ll be back soon. So keep following WDWNT and Universal Parks News Today for more updates!
