PHOTO REPORT: Universal Orlando Resort 3/29/21 (Parks Reaching Capacity, Lunch at Hard Rock Hotel, Hogwarts House Scrunchies, New Universal Studios Store Signs Lit, and More)
It’s another perfect day here at the Universal Orlando Resort. The weather is lovely and the crowd is out to enjoy a day in the parks. The theme parks were full by the afternoon and standby lines were set up in CityWalk for guests who want to board later in the day. We decided to take a break from the crowd and hop on a boat to the Hard Rock Hotel for lunch.
The beach club is outside next to the resort pool and offers a variety of food and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. We rated The Kitchen restaurant and loved the blue cheese chips so we ordered these as a starter. They were even better than we remembered, but we didn’t see any bacon on them. Our waiter recommended the “Philly Style” Black Angus Steak Sandwich and a Running Blind Cocktail and they did not disappoint. The portions were huge and we will definitely be back soon.
As soon as the parks were no longer full, we first made our way to Islands of Adventure.
This bad sign at the exit of the Truffula trees is damaged. We hope it will be fixed soon.
The parks are still busy, but not bad.
A lot of things around Jurassic Park are being freshened up, so we hope the sign for the watering hole returns soon. It’s our favorite place to have a drink in the park!
The Discovery Center got a little more color and looks nice. It all comes together!
We stopped over at Universal Studios in Florida to do some shopping at the Universal Studios store. These Hogwarts house scrunchies are a super cute way to shop for accessories and show off your home pride. They are $ 12 each.
Unfortunately, the last remaining sign for “A day at the park with Barney” has been removed from the studio directory and replaced with a toilet sign. The show recently closed and now it’s just a memory. You can see the full show below.
We will miss you Barney.
The pearls are still flying through the park. It’s great to see how many guests enjoy Carnival.
2 Fast 2 Furious Diagon Drift. This duo drove through Diagon Alley, and luckily the crowd wasn’t bad.
The evenings in the parks are always much less crowded.
This Cookies & Cream Puff from the San Francisco Pastry Company looks so good. We have to come back and try!
This little Easter egg from the Tribute Store is one of our favorites. We would like this to be available as a print.
Most people wait until the end of the day to buy souvenirs and the lines are usually long in the evenings.
The Universal Legacy Store is one of our new favorite spots in CityWalk and they have started adding the equipment for the personalization area in the middle of the store.
The new Universal Studios store is making great strides and almost all of the signs are now lit. The globe shield looks great at night!
Thank you for joining us at the Universal Orlando Resort today. We’ll be back very soon, so stay tuned for more updates from WDWNT and Universal Parks News Today!
