Orlando Magic is honoring the Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month with a virtual town hall


ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Magic invites all Central Floridians to a virtual town hall celebrating the Month of Heritage of the Asia-American Pacific Islanders.

People can prepare for the Walk With Us online event on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Attendees will hear remarks from Mark Tatum, Assistant Commissioner of the NBA, Senior Director of the US Tennis Association, Bill Leong, and Senior Managing Director of Tavistock, Rasesh Thakkar. Magic’s Chief Diversity Officer Esu Ma’at will moderate the conversation, according to the team.

The conversation will highlight the Asian-American experience in corporate America and perspective on the recent Stop Asian Hate movement. Fans and community members can join the conversation here or learn more about the initiative by following this link.

According to a press release, Orlando Magic will honor and celebrate the achievements and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific islanders in the United States in May. During the home games, the team will highlight the AAPI community in central Florida.
