Nearly 100 guests were kicked out Thursday after they were told the hotel had been sold. Several employees were also laid off on the spot.

Jan Guatam, CEO of the Interesting Hotels Group, owns seven hotels in the area and said he has never heard of anything like it.

“It was shocking news for me,” he said.

Guatam offered free stays at its hotels for those who were in Champion’s World and had nowhere to go.
