An Orlando hotelier has jobs and hotel stays for guests and employees suddenly evicted from Champion’s World Resort in Kissimmee.
ORLANDO, Fla. – – An Orlando hotelier has jobs and hotel stays for guests and employees suddenly evicted from Champion’s World Resort in Kissimmee.
Nearly 100 guests were kicked out Thursday after they were told the hotel had been sold. Several employees were also laid off on the spot.
Jan Guatam, CEO of the Interesting Hotels Group, owns seven hotels in the area and said he has never heard of anything like it.
“It was shocking news for me,” he said.
Guatam offered free stays at its hotels for those who were in Champion’s World and had nowhere to go.

“”[Families] Plan on vacationing for months, especially when it comes to kids going to Disney World, “he said.”[I did it] just so they can still enjoy their vacation. “
Gautam works with the Asian American Hotel Owner’s Association to ensure employees who are suddenly laid off have jobs.

“We have nearly 40 to 45 hotels in this area and we will be working with all of these staff to make sure they have jobs and food on their plates,” he said. “One of the employees I heard has worked there for the past 30 years. I called the lady personally and asked her to join one of our hotels. She actually started crying.”
