Orlando Bloom says his diet is 90 percent plant-based

Convincing your significant other to change their diet and ditch animal products is usually one of the biggest hurdles, but singer Katy Perry’s vegetable journey must have seen a change in fiance and actor Orlando Bloom. The Curse of the Caribbean Stars revealed during an interview with the Sunday Times that his diet was mostly plant-based. He backed this decision by claiming that cows are beautiful and followed in the footsteps of his fiancé’s decision to leave animal products out of their diet.

“I’m 90 percent plant-based, so I might only have a really good piece of red meat once a month,” said Bloom. Sometimes I look at a cow and think: ‘This is the most beautiful thing that has ever been.’ “

The celebrity explained his daily routine during the interview, saying his schedule was “pretty LA”. Bloom starts his day with Buddhist chant and spends a lot of time with his daughter Daisy. The actor shared that his meals often do not contain any animal products and that his transition to a plant-based diet has been seamless.

“I like to make my breakfast, so I just have some green powders that I mix with brain octane oil, a collagen powder for my hair and nails, and some protein,” said Bloom.

While this is the first time the actor has confirmed his plant-based diet, it isn’t the first time he has spoken publicly about eating meatless meals. The Lord of the Rings actor posted on his Instagram in 2019 that Burger Kings Impossible Whopper is a road trip necessity and advocates for the plant-based patty of fast food restaurants.

Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry: vegan power couple?

Bloom’s fiancée Katy Perry announced last year that she was finally ready to go vegan. The superstar was very vocal about her plant-based trip, dressing up as a plant-based burger twice, at the 2019 Met Gala and again in a Taylor Swift music video. Perry also became an investor in Impossible Food – the company that makes the couple’s favorite meat-free burger.

“I’m 95 percent ready to be 100 percent vegan,” Perry tweeted last year. “My dog nugget has been with me on this trip for four months.”

Although Perry announced her diet change before Bloom, it seems he was the idea behind the transition. Although it took Bloom longer to actually switch to a plant-based diet, he first tried to convince the American Idol host to eat less meat. It seems that the couple are making an effort to eat healthier and live more sustainably, inspiring themselves and their fans to think about the benefits of a more plant-based diet.
