Orlando Bloom is 90 percent vegan because “cows are beautiful”
Orlando Bloom now mainly eats a plant-based diet, the actor said in an interview with the British media broadcaster Sunday Times over the weekend. The 44-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean star revealed his daily routine, waking up at 6:30 a.m., practicing Buddhism and looking after his six-month-old baby Daisy Dove – his first child with fiancée Katy Perry. The British actor announced that his typical breakfast consists of porridge with hazelnut milk, cinnamon, vanilla paste and protein powder topped with hazelnuts and goji berries, which he consumes with a cup of PG Tips (a popular British tea brand). “I’m 90 percent plant-based, so I might only have a really good piece of red meat once a month,” said Bloom. “Sometimes I look at a cow and think, ‘This is the most beautiful thing that has ever existed.'”
Bloom said he “earned his breakfast” by singing for 20 minutes before consuming a mixture of “green powder and brain octane oil, a collagen powder for my hair and nails, and some protein” to fuel his morning hike – the he replaces with music from 90s rock bands Nirvana and Stone Temple Pilots.
Is Katy Perry Vegan?
While Bloom is now taking the plant-based route, Perry began making the transition to veganism last year. Before Daisy Dove was born, Perry – an investor in the plant-based brand Impossible Foods – satisfied her pregnancy cravings with plant-based burgers because she found animal meat repulsive. In January, the American Idol musician and presenter took to Twitter to tell her 109 million followers that she was dropping animal products. “I’m 95 percent ready to be 100 percent vegan,” Perry tweeted. “My dog Nugget has been with me on this trip for four months.” Known for her creative sense of fashion, Perry has dressed up as a vegan burger twice, once for the 2019 Met Gala and again for Taylor Swift’s music video for “You Need to Calm Down”.
