Sundowns are drawn against Al Ahly or MC Alger for avoiding Chiefs they recently defeated in a fun PSL encounter.

Al Ahly, who is under the direction of former Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane, had to settle for second place in Group A after losing points to Vita Club and Simba.

On the other hand, Alger snuck into the knockout round after finishing second in Group D ahead of third-placed Zamalek from Egypt and the Algerian team winning the Champions League in 1976.
