Injured Orlando Pirates star Richard Ofori leads the Jama session

Injured Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Richard Ofori has teamed up with the Ghanaian squad at the FNB Stadium to gather the troops with a strong jama session ahead of the clash with Bafana Bafana.

Ofori was expelled from Bafana and São Tomé and Príncipe will play African Nations Cup 2021 qualifiers this week, but as the squad leader he was present at their final training session on Wednesday night.

The 27-year-old suffered a muscle injury at the CAF Confederation Cup with the Buccaneers earlier this month but was in high spirits for the traditional pre-game ritual he is now leading in the absence of Gyan Asamoah.

What is jama?

Jama Sessions were a deeply rooted part of the Black Stars team to help keep the team up and bring the multicultural group of players and technical team together.

In the AFCON 2019, the squad met with great interest from the media for their melodic and entertaining chants before the games and after the training units.

Did you know?

Ghana has won the AFCON four times.
