Florida’s only White Castle opened in Orlando on May 3rd
The wait is finally over. Florida’s only White Castle Slider hamburger restaurant opens on May 3, 2021 in Orlando with fanfare and a band cut at 8 a.m.
Orlando Castle – one of the largest freestanding white castles in the world – marks the brand’s return to Florida since operating four restaurants in Miami in the 1960s.
The restaurant in southwest Orlando is well on the way to being one of the first to open a new mixed-use facility in the Village at O-Town West after Portillo was forced to postpone its opening. (Portillo hasn’t reset an opening date yet.) O-Town West is on Palm Parkway, about three and a half miles from Disney Springs.
This newest lock has hired 120 team members and managers. The family business, founded in 1921, has been satisfying demand for 100 years. The opening ceremonies will be attended by Lisa Ingram, President and CEO of White Castle – a fourth generation family member – as well as other family members and business leaders, locally elected officials, development partners, invited guests and the general public.
Orlando Castle is open for takeaway, food, and drive-through from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on opening day, and will reopen on Tuesdays with regular hours of 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. seven days a week. At some point in the future, White Castle will operate 24 hours a day. Guests can “long” with a maximum order of 60 sliders per visit.
To ensure a delicious, fun and memorable experience for everyone during the Orlando Castle opening and every day, White Castle has implemented health and safety measures in accordance with Orange County’s COVID-19 guidelines, including mask requirements for all team members and guests, as well as social Distancing, routine cleaning and hand sanitizer and wipes.
