Drone reveals a fantastically long line at the Orlando White Castle.
Harold and Kumar not only go to White Castle, apparently almost everyone in Orlando, Florida, too. A drone revealed a fantastically long line of people eager to try the food at the new location.
People who like White Castle Fast Food are known as cravers. And Orlando is full of it. The fast food chain opened its largest restaurant ever on Monday, and the cravers couldn’t wait to get to the driveway. But if the drivers had seen what this drone revealed, they might have come back on a slower day.
The video seems to be sped up a bit so the wait was even longer than it looks. USA Today reports that the line was over a mile long and some drivers waited more than four hours. Vice President Jamie Richardson said the new White Castle broke a one-day sales record on opening day.
“Our opening exceeded our wildest expectations, beating the previous record by over 15%,” he said in a statement.
Drone reveals a fantastic long line
It’s the first White Castle to open in Florida since the 1960s, and the line began to form the night before. Due to the expected demand, the restaurant limited itself to 60 (!) Sliders per customer. It might sound a bit over the top, but Florida saw this kind of mania for sliders earlier this year. White Castle briefly opened a restaurant with no dining room in February but was forced to close due to overwhelming demand.
Widespread delivery of fast food by drone has long been promised. But really, if a four hour cast doesn’t make it, what will it do?
