Column: Why Orlando Airport Workers Need PRO Act

While working at HMSHost, a manager told me to stop being female. I was told not to wear makeup because it was against the “male dress code”. I was told not to use my fluffy rainbow print backpack. One of my managers called my coworkers a “pansy” and told them to “man” themselves. When I worked for HMSHost at Starbucks, I felt like I was going back into the closet, which was very disturbing. I have filed a discrimination lawsuit against HMSHost with the City of Orlando, which is pending.
