Orlando is in the middle of a long era without bo-berry cookies. Carolina chicken chain Bojangles (and their signature sweet biscuits) closed all eight locations in 2015. The minds of Getta Hava won’t have to get along much longer, however, as the fast food restaurant plans 15 new locations in Central Florida.
Bojangles hopes to open 12 restaurants in Orlando, according to a report in the Orlando Business Journal. The remaining three will be in Kissimmee, Winter Garden and Davenport. While there’s no word on the order of opening, the chain plans to open at least two restaurants a year in the area over the next five years. The first two have a preliminary opening date in 2022, with three more coming every year until 2027.
While Orlando has certainly moved on and there are plenty of places to buy fried chicken on all kinds of biscuits and rolls, it’s hard to beat the cost and availability of some early morning bojangles offerings.
