MOUNT DORA, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, May 19, 2021 / – The Orlando Chapter of the National Organization for the Reformation of Marijuana Laws (NORML) announced today that it is hosting a massive Field Day event, to advance the event to legalize marijuana in Florida. The free event offers summer nostalgia with teams participating in all competitions from potato sack races to a life-size inflatable, hungry hippopotamus game.

Florida Field Day will feature more than 80 cannabis lifestyle vendors, seven (7) food trucks, medical marijuana clinics, and many of the current medical marijuana treatment centers in Florida.

“Tug of war, water balloons, sacks of potatoes … we’re bringing it all back, only adult-sized and marijuana-themed,” said Sister Colleen Murray, a Florida registered nurse and chairman of Orlando NORML. “It is high time to normalize this plant that brings health and happiness to so many people. Isn’t it about a field day? Health and happiness?”

Florida Field Day will also feature panel discussions on marijuana legalization by industry leaders, activists, legal professionals, veterans, and others. Orlando NORML has partnered with Zick Productions, the producers of the Florida Cannabis Festival, for the event, which drew over 15,000 visitors to the same location in November 2020.

“We’re breaking lazy stoner stereotypes,” Sister Colleen continued. “We’ll have both teams and individuals competing in some of the funniest games you can imagine. There are even rolling competitions and a ‘wet tank’.”

In addition to her role as chairman of Orlando NORML, Sister Colleen Murray hosts a daily marijuana video / podcast called the 710 Morning Show and travels the state with her fiancé Pete Sessa, co-founder of the Florida Cannabis Coalition, to educate people about cannabis.
