National Library of Australia
About National Library of Australia
The Library's role, as defined by the National Library Act 1960, is to ensure that documentary resources of national significance relating
to Australia and its people are collected. This includes both Australian-born citizens and residents who have lived here their entire lives, along with international visitors - those people from abroad looking for a taste our beautiful country has to offer! Once these important documents become available through either this building OR collaborative arrangements made with other libraries and information providers, then we can begin filling in gaps left behind because there will always be something new waiting around every corner, no matter what you're interested in.
They are committed to supporting a strong and vibrant Australian culture that continues the nation’s rich diversity. They do this by fostering creativity, intellectual endeavour, learning from other cultures – as well as contributing positively in whatever way possible towards these goals through our resources which include knowledge-wise people with different perspectives on how life should be lived!

The NLA has something that everyone can enjoy--whether their curiosity runs deep about our country's history through literature; they need help finding research material in 10 million items spanning centuries, or simply wish fulfilment browsing amongst gorgeous architecture.
The papers of a diverse group are represented in this collection, with special strength in the fields of politics and public administration. However, examples range from mundane office worker documents to personal correspondence that documents someone's life story - it is up to you what kind of history your organization will tell!
