2020 Eating Awards – Orlando Journal
Our annual guide to great cuisine, with 21 recommendations from critic Joseph Hayes and a selection from readers in 57 categories.
When we started putting together the 2020 Dining Awards, the world was a different place with a booming culinary economy and new, exciting destinations on the horizon. Fast forward a few short but stressful months and restaurants will be downgraded to less than full occupancy or just had to play the game to take away. Names like Sette and Wahlburgers have closed, and Florida brewers are in desperate trouble with no opportunity to serve on-site. And yet, the Orlando food community carries on due to economic hardship and pandemic regulations, and this year’s Dining Awards winners deserve even more recognition. Here is a toast to better times and we look forward to enjoying them to the fullest again.
